Transfer VPS from one disk to another at the same server
I would like to propose the addition of a feature that allows users to transfer VPS instances from one disk to another within the same server. This functionality is crucial for several practical scenarios:
- Disk Space Management:
When there is insufficient space on a particular disk, users often need to resize and expand the disk space for a VPS. The ability to transfer the VPS to another disk on the same server would streamline this process.
In situations where multiple VPS instances contribute to high loads on a specific disk, transferring a VPS to another disk on the same server would help distribute the load more efficiently.
Users may want to upgrade server disks, such as replacing old SSDs with new ones. Having the option to easily move VPS instances from one disk to another within the same server would facilitate hardware upgrades.
Practical Usage Scenarios:
- Example 1: Disk Expansion
- In a scenario where the server has a 1TB disk, and a VPS with 820GB space needs more room, the current lack of an option to migrate the VPS to an additional disk on the same server poses a challenge.
- Example 2: Load Distribution
Instances of high load on a particular disk due to multiple VPS instances can be addressed more effectively by transferring some VPS instances to less loaded disks on the same server.
Example 3: Hardware Upgrade
Upgrading server disks, such as replacing existing SSDs, becomes cumbersome without a direct VPS transfer option. The current workaround involves migrating the VPS to another server and then transferring it back after the hardware upgrade.
I believe the implementation of this feature would greatly enhance the flexibility and efficiency of VPS management within SOLUSVM. Thank you for considering this request, and I look forward to the continued improvement of your excellent software.
