Limit the CPU allocation using Ghz, or Mhz instead of number of vCPU - SolusVM 2
Currently, SolusVM 2 allocates CPU cores using numerical vCPU values. It would be beneficial to include a feature in SolusVM 2 that allows for limiting the CPU based on GHz or MHz values according to its total frequency.

Looking for a notification system if Backup fails for a VM - SolusVM 2
In the event that a backup fails on a VM, it currently results in an error, and at times, it can lead to a VM shutdown. It would be beneficial for the Administrator to receive an email notification or an alert in SolusVM 2 when a VM backup fails.

Launch VPS from ISO
We are looking at launching phone systems from SolusVM.

Adding the "firmware option" to the OS image settings
Adding the "firmware option" to the individual image operating system settings -
Always spin up the new VPS'es with UEFI when using a specific image.
Example: adding a Windows 2024 image or newer should always use UEFI when used for VPS creation instead of manually performing this.8 votes -

It would be better to have an option as Custom Config to make custom changes in the VM XML file, just like Custom Config feature in SolusVM 1.

Propose the addition of a configurable option for plan parameters as an add-on for virtual machine resources
Currently, the configurable option functions as an override during the checkout process. It would be beneficial if it were to serve as an add-on to the selected plan.

Enhancements in the Activity logs
Add more filter options in SolusVM 2 Activity logs. It would be helpful to identify which administrator user added the IP blocks, as well as who removed the IP blocks and the specific IPs.

Feature to enable/disable the bandwidth calculation per Computer Resource basis- SolusVM 2.
It would be awesome if SolusVM 2 had an option to turn Bandwidth/Traffic Calculation on or off for each Computer Resource. This could really come in handy when we want to lift bandwidth limits for a certain location or resource, for instance.

Editing the Cloud-init configuration for an existing VM - SolusVM 2
In SolusVM 2, the ability to modify the Cloud-init configuration is limited to before the creation of the VM and during OS reinstallation.
It would be beneficial to have a feature in SolusVM that allows for the editing and reloading of the Cloud-init configuration at any time.

UEFI persistance on VMs after Resize (CPU, RAM)
Booting in UEFI in a VM - Currently, if the VM is resized (CPU, RAM), the correct manual edits for UEFI boot are reverted to the global ones from the CR(bios) and again, the manual changes need to be done on the same VM. A persistent option will be very helpful, especially in cases were from 100 VMs only 10 for example, need to be different

Ability to customize the admin area of SolusVM 2 from the UI like for the User Area, e.g. a custom logo, and this change to be persistent through updates and reconfigurations.

IP subnet allocation
At the moment the system selects the available IPs 'randomly' from the available subnets.
It's needed to implement an option to switch from a 'random' selection of IPs to selecting "most free", and "round-robin" as well.
Randomness is causing shattering in all subnets and issues with provisioning.

Detailed error messages for API server creation failures
When attempting to create servers, it fails due to a variety of factors, including insufficient available IP addresses, locked nodes, storage constraints, and other resource limitations. The current error messages compel to manually investigate each potential issue, leading to wasted time and resources.
To enhance the efficiency of this, it would be better to have an option for more detailed and specific error messages. By clearly identifying the root cause of the failure—be it an IP shortage, a locked node, or inadequate storage—we can significantly reduce troubleshooting time and streamline our operations.
Implementing this change would involve minimal code modifications…

Grouping Lists/Tabs on "Plan"
Currently when a long list of Plans is present, and when a user creates a VM he/she sees that long list without any kind of filtering.
An option to create groups/categories/tags/etc. so when a user creates a VM they can switch between those groups and choose a proper available plan with less scrolling or knowing the exact name of the plan.
A good starting point will be something like Digital Ocean's interface.
